Very venerated shrines are around Mandalay.
In the hills at the other side of the Irrawaddy and at the east side including Amarapura are countless beautiful religious monuments which have been built over more than thousand years.
Here the old cities of Myanmar Kings had been built that includes Shwebo around 100 km to the north and the famous Mingun Pagoda a bit upstream also on the other side of the river. This is Mandalay and real Burmese Days.
