In the vicinity are countless stupas and temples, big and small.
The sacred monuments are dedicated to Buddha but have variants and different styles, one of the most interesting are some with glass mosaics. The glinting and shining of them is incredible, not every one of them has this but many at least for a part of the building.

The name is "Sein Yaung Chi Pagoda“
means bright diamond hued”. It is across from the Defense Services Museum on Shwedagon Pagoda Road. It was renovated in 1994 with the use of glass mosaic patterns which produces a spectacular look. Not much changed since the old Burmese Days.
The idea behind is buried in mysticism telling that the king of the celestial beings known as Thagyamin, also as the Hindu god Indra and in Buddhism known as Sakka, the lord of the first two levels of existence is generally believed to descends to earth annually at spring at the water festival.
